The LG Electronics L203WT monitor has one of the most capable displays on the market. This is the third time we have had a chance to review an LG product and we have not been disappointed yet.
This 20.1–inch monitor has wide screen display ability and a native resolution of 1680 x 1050 to give you the best view possible. LG designed this model for brilliant display; it does not offer many extras like the Dell, just a great image. Nevertheless, for the price, only the Samsung can compete with LG.
Connectivity:
This monitor has analog and digital input ability and is compatible with PCs and Macs.
Display:
This monitor has the ability to display nearly all games without annoying ghosting and provides amazingly deep colors and shadowing; although, the images could be a bit crisper.
This monitor has an unparalleled contrast ratio of 1400:1 to display rich color and color depth. Its native resolution is 1680 x 1050, its scanning frequencies have the ability to perform over 75 kHz and its response time is a quick 8ms. The only area we would like to see improve is the dot pitch, which is .258 mm, .255 would provide crisper detail.
If you need a smaller monitor, the 17–inch LG is just as good, with an unprecedented response time of 4ms.
Features:
Although this monitor has amazing display, it does not incorporate extra features. It can be wall–mounted, but it does not have integrated speakers, picture–in–picture or pivot ability.
Display Adjustments:
This monitor has convenient front panel displays. From the front panel buttons, you can adjust brightness, change source, turn on/off or access the menu. Additionally, the user controls can be used to adjust contrast, gamma, color, position, settings, clock, phase and the Flatron F–Engine.
Physical Adjustments:
This monitor only has tilt ability, for maximum flexibility it would need to be arm mounted.
Product Support:
LG publishes general information as well as a user manual online. Additionally, you can contact them by email or telephone. In all of our experiences with LG, they have provided incomparable customer support and answer their emails quickly, usually within the same day, and they answer all of our questions.
Summary:
Few displays can beat the LG, especially in this price range. For under $500, only the Samsung is faster. LG also provides excellent customer service by repeatedly answering our emails within the same day and providing an easy to find comprehensive user manual online for reference.
